Metallica released the video “Lux Aeterna” and announced the new album “72 Seasons

Metallica has shared the first song in six years “Lux Aeterna” and showed the video for it. This is the first single from their forthcoming 11th album, 72 Seasons, which will be released on April 14, 2023.

The video for “Lux Aeterna” was directed by Tim Sackenti, who collaborated with Depeche Mode, Coldplay, and Lana Del Rey.

The sound of “Lux Aeterna” is a typical Metallica track: heavy, energetic and fast-paced. The song was written by vocalist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. And one of its producers was Greg Fidelman, who had already worked with Metallica on the albums “Death Magnetic” (2008) and “Hardwired … to Self-Destruct” (2016).
